An Amethyst in the making: The lost Girl

It was sunrise in the forest of Luricious (luh-ree-see-us), and all was peaceful. Or was it? A man was being chased by two knights of Luricious. His heart was pounding and he was breathing hard. He ran with all his might, hoping that he could outrun the knights, but they kept up with him well. The man started to believe that he was never going to survive to see anyone. He whispered out, “Someone help!” but he knew no one would hear. But then he tripped over something and fell. Knowing that the knights would be upon him any second, he got up and ran to hide behind a bush without looking at what he tripped over. His hood and dark brown hair made him camouflage with the bush perfectly. He peered over the bush to see what he tripped over, and was shocked, yet terrified at the same time. He saw a girl wearing raggedy clothes lying on the ground and a knight was standing over her.

“Hello? Are you okay? Wait a minute, you’re trying to distract me from finding that person aren’t you!? Where did he go?” A knight said. Then, the other knight ran over to him.

“Coen! Is your stupidity getting in the way again? Can’t you see that this young maiden is barely alive? We need to help her.” The other knight ordered.

“But sir Kyro, we don’t know who-” Coen began.

“That is an order. We must get her back to the village.” Kyro picked up the girl, and they hurried into the village.

The village of Luricious used to be glowing with good soil and thriving with people. But, that was before the great fire. The great fire was when the village’s king and family died, along with many others due to a big fire. In each village, there is a king who runs the place. In Luricious, as I explained just now, they no longer had a king to rule the village, so the job was left to the knights. A village without a king was bad news to those who lived there. The village was open to bandits, thieves, and easy trouble. When Luricious’s king was still alive the first knight was Sir Kyro, and so now he and his companion Coen, were sworn to protect the village. Nobody in the village knows how or why there was a fire, so it was easy to blame the knights.

They went to Sir Kyro’s house and put the girl on a bed in the upper level of the house. Kyro and Coen went back down the stairs to talk about who that girl is.

“Sir Kyro, why did we bring her to the village? What is the point in that?” Coen questioned.

“She was literally laying on the ground and unconscious. What do you think I was supposed to do? Just leave her there?!” Kyro responded.

“Yes! We don’t know where she’s been. For all we know, she could be a spy!” Coen explained.

“Come on Coen, she needed help! She could be useful in the future.” Kyro suggested. Just then, the front door busted open.

“What are you two arguing about now? I can hear you from the street!!” A villager exclaimed.

“Oh, great, hi Mary.” Coen said sarcastically. Then, Mary smacked Coen across the face. “Ow! What was that for?!”

“You should never be sarcastic with a lady! So Kyro, what’s the news?” Mary asked.

“Well…….. we were on patrol and we spotted a wolf, we started to chase it, but then we found a girl. I took her here, and she is upstairs.” Kyro explained.

“Can I see her?”

“Why would you want to? She doesn’t belong here.” Coen said.

“She could be sick or in need of help. I doubt that you two know how to take care of a lady.” Then, there was a knock on the door. Mary opened the door and another villager came in.

“Is there a gathering in here, or what?” The villager asked.

“Hello Hadley, and no, there is no gathering.” Kyro answered.

“I am going to go upstairs.” Mary said. Just then, a loud crash came from the upstairs.
